Product Update – August 2026
This KIT Product Update adds a few little Permission and Alert changes as well as some small touches to improve user experience and data sharing.
Clear Item Issue Permission
We have added a new Permission that allows Users to clear reported issues on Items. Previously, clearing issues required permission to edit all Item details. This change enables more granular access control and better separation of responsibilities.
Quality of Life Improvements
The expanded state of groups within the Location List is now preserved when navigating between pages. Expanded groups will remain open when the Location List is revisited, reducing the need to repeatedly expand the same Groups.
Also, when moving an Item to a new Location, the Move dialog now displays the Location Group structure, making it easier to find and select the desired destination.
The display style introduced in the previous release for Items marked as “Away” from a Location now also applies to non-visual Locations. This provides a more consistent experience and makes Item status easier to identify throughout the system.
New visual style for “Away” Items
If the system determines that an Item is legitimately away from a Location, such as being on Loan or having a Location Status other than “Active”, the Item will now appear in the Location View with a different visual style.
“Away” Items are shown with pink horizontal stripes, a unique colour and pattern combination that distinguishes them from existing styles such as “Missing”, “Out of Calibration” or “Issue Reported”. The pattern also makes them identifiable to colour-blind Users.
Ready for Collection Alerts
A new “Ready for Collection” alert is now available for Advanced Calibration add-on Users. Administrators can configure individual Users to receive notifications immediately whenever an Item is marked as “Ready for Collection”.
This complements the existing daily Ready for Collection report notification by providing real-time updates for time-sensitive workflows.
Customer API
Customers using both the Customer API and Advanced Calibration add-ons can now retrieve complete details of internally performed calibrations through the API.
Available information includes the test parameters used, the measured values recorded during calibration, and the calibration equipment used to perform the work.
Security Updates
As part of our ongoing platform maintenance, several underlying system and third-party components have been updated to incorporate the latest security and reliability improvements.
